The On The Right Track® assessment is a critical service designed to evaluate and support injured or ill workers whose recovery may have slowed or plateaued. By identifying barriers to recovery and offering tailored recommendations, this six-week check helps ensure that workers are receiving appropriate treatment and progressing as expected, aiding both their recovery and return to work.
Our On The Right Track® is an in-person assessment offered in Brisbane, and at our regional clinics, including Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba. This comprehensive evaluation is designed to assess the recovery progress of workers following an illness or injury.
Our experienced medical professionals review the worker’s current condition, diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress to date, providing tailored recommendations to enhance recovery and facilitate a safe return to work.
The On The Right Track® assessment serves as a valuable tool for both employees and employers by evaluating the worker’s progress in returning to work (RTW).
By providing a clear understanding of the recovery process, this service helps employers fulfil their legal obligations while supporting workers in their journey back to a safe and productive work environment.
Whether the recovery has slowed or is progressing well, the assessment ensures appropriate steps are being taken to prevent further delays and potential complications.
Our assessments are overseen by occupational and environmental physicians with vast experience in managing work-related injuries and illnesses.
The assessment provides personalised recommendations for the worker, their treating team, and the employer, ensuring that treatment and recovery plans are aligned with the worker’s needs and job requirements.
We don’t just assess physical recovery—we look at all factors impacting recovery, from diagnosis and treatment efficacy to workplace conditions and the mental well-being of the worker.
Employers gain peace of mind by knowing that their workers are on the right track towards recovery, reducing the risk of re-injury, reducing the likelihood of long-tail claims, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
The assessment includes a review of the worker’s diagnosis, treatment progress, and expected recovery timeline. Our specialists assess whether the treatment has been timely, evidence-based, and aligned with the worker’s needs. We then provide recommendations for improving recovery, addressing any potential barriers, and ensuring a safe return to work.
This assessment is typically performed around six weeks after the onset of the injury or illness, especially if the recovery has plateaued or slowed. However, it can also be performed earlier or later, depending on the specific needs of the worker and employer.
In some locations, Phoenix Occupational Medicine’s specialists can visit your worksite to conduct the assessment, ensuring that all workplace-specific factors are taken into account when evaluating the worker’s progress and recovery plan.
